Cu-based thin film solar cells

I-III-VI2-based solar cells possesse the highest energy conversion effciency among all the thin film solar cells. Many things have to be done to further improve the I-III-VI2-based solar cells efficiency for large scale production. We are focusing on the defect, surface and interface physics related two promising absorbers Cu(In,Ga)Se2 and Cu2ZnSn(S,Se)4. In addition, we also make efforts on designing intermediate band (IB) solar cells based on wide band gap I-III-VI2 semiconductors.
